BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company Announce First-Ever ‘Bluey’ Animated Feature Film

BBC Studios and The Walt Disney Company have officially announced the first-ever animated feature film for the beloved Bluey series, which has become a global phenomenon. The film will be released in 2027, with Disney acquiring the global theatrical rights. After its cinematic release, it will also stream on Disney+

The movie will continue the adventures of Bluey, the playful and energetic blue heeler dog, and her family—Mum, Dad, and her little sister, Bingo. Joe Brumm, the creator of Bluey, will write and direct the film, promising the same heartwarming charm and humor that made the show a hit. Brumm shared his excitement, saying, “I’ve always thought Bluey deserved a theatrical movie. I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.”

Fans will also hear the familiar voices of Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Chilli and Bandit Heeler, Bluey’s parents.
